Settling down in Saratoga Springs Utah

Saratoga Springs is one of Utah’s newest cities and was incorporated just over ten years ago.  It is positioned right by Utah Lake and has been growing steadily.  Because of the growth, a lot of basic demographic information is out of date.  The 2000 census showed population at 1,003 and homes numbering 271.  Today’s population has grown to 11,570 and the number of Saratoga Springs homes is likely to be somewhere in the upper two-thousands.  Close to 7% of the population rents and median income is about $71,790.

Even though Saratoga Springs has not been around for a very long time, there are plenty of things to do.  A public marina adds ease to enjoying the beautiful lake and an 18-hole golf course complements the wonderful surroundings.  The city averages out with precipitation of about 11 inches of rain and 27 inches of snow yearly.  The temperature will average highs in the upper 90s in the summer and lows in the mid teens in the winter.  The city celebration is called the Saratoga Splash and includes a 5K race, a parade, and more.  Location places Saratoga Springs just over 30 minutes from The Salt Lake International Airport and just less than 30 minutes from Provo.  Three of Utah’s major Universities are within commuting distance.

The number of homes in Saratoga Springs sold doubled during the second quarter of 2009.  That is one of the best increases Utah Real Estate has seen lately.  Part of this increase is likely due to the slight decrease in prices during the second quarter of 2009.  There are over 300 homes listed on the market currently.
